S1 Two rare extremely thick ancient Thadobati with matching undertones and resonance
Both are 5 1/8″ 1.2 Lbs
Sound Clip: M 216, M217 mallets
An incredible pair of rare old singing bowls. Both bowls are smooth from centuries of wear, bright gold colored and more than double thick. Bowl 2074 is a small Thadobati with some worn inner markings. It holds the tone for longer than its counterpart. Bowl 2075 is simple similar style bowl with no trace of inner lines. Both these bowls are short and compact with large smooth inner facing lips. They are close in their high pitched major tones with very similar undertones that produce a new tone not evident in either when played together. I like the intensity of a small hard mallet like M216 but you can mellow out the highs and still get the resonance with the softer M218. In the sound clip I bring the tones a bit closer by using different mallets with each.
