Double thick Manipuri with nice gold color and some hammer marks. Flat grooved lip with an unusually large number of lines outside and a strong inner circle. As the initial sharp tones fade what you hear is a woo woo sound with a clear steady deeper tone underneath. You can leave out most of those initial high tones with a very soft mallet like M204 and go direct to the undertones which will still last a surprisingly long time. A rather complex bowl that is easy to kick into overdrive if you hit it with too much force. Easy to get going with a ringing stick but again the active rim means you’re better off going slow and easy. Item # 324
