105 Rare mini Mani singing bowl. Very Octave High D, 5" 1.6 Lbs

Mani style bowls tend to come in a set range of sizes. This rare bowl is a bit over half the height and inner rim diameter of the average Mani. The bowl is in an excellent state of preservation with sharp outer lines, rim edges and inner circular pattern. Evident hammer marks throughout. The lack of wear on this likely 300 year old bowl indicates it was made specifically for display as opposed to common use. The bowl is very heavy for its small size. The bowl reveals a clear tone when struck with a hard mallet line M206 or M233. The sound is harmonious but not strong and fades more quickly than my standard for a premium quality bowl. Nonetheless I bought this bowl for what I thought was a rather steep price because of its rarity and condition. An important bowl for a type collector. Item # 105
