1124 Antique Jambati Singing Bowl with peaceful lilting overtone
Large Jambati with worn classical artwork and original patina. Beautiful sounding bowl with sweet overtones standing in front of a deep bass. The bowl has great harmony and longevity, however it also can have a soft raspiness when struck extra hard for the first few seconds. This moves the bowl down a notch from extraordinary (along with the price). The pure deep tone can be played using leather low on the outside of the bowl. Rim play for the overtone comes across with an absolutely spectacular peaceful slow lilting and long sustain. With that wood you can hear the raspiness for a second or two – however I can’t hear it in the recording it is that subtle. With overtones at D4, D5, F5.
