6078 Large Antique Mani Singing Bowl with pronounced flutter and longevity
Extra large very thick Mani with clear artwork and brassy patina. Strong primary tone in the lower end of the range for mani bowls with a pronounced flutter. It comes through very purely with a soft mallet. There is some texture to the sound with two discernable overtones. With a hard mallet there is a bit of discontinuity in the first half second sometimes. Very good longevity whether struck softly or firmly. Exceptional play off the rim, if you are looking for a big heavy mani with this characteristic it will be hard to do better. Comes up smoothly and quickly with leather or wood. Spectacular fluttering sustain, that pure sweet tone singing on. Marked down due to subtle sonic flaw. With overtones at G6, F7.
