6138 Antique Mani Singing Bowl with fluttering Solfeggio primary tone

Thick Mani with clear artwork and dark patina. The bowl is small for a mani but heavy with not much of a rim. Extremely active soundscape for a Mani bowl both ether primary tone and overtone are strong with deeply varying volume. Primary tone is always statistical, that is the frequency that is most often displayed is what we publish. In this case the most frequently seen frequency is 528 Hz however the tone has an extremely wide range of 526 to 532. The overtone is unusually strong. In the second half of the recording you can hear that a soft mallet can almost entirely eliminate the overtone and play just the Solfeggio primary. Sustain is about average for a Mani. With a bit of technique you can play the rim with leather, there you get a smooth 528Hz tone. With a wood wand a blend of primary and overtone comes out, with a small stick pure overtone. With overtones at F#6, E7.
