8437 Large Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with rapid pulsing deep strike tone
Large Manipuri with hammermark patina. Four clear outer lines are a display of the original art, worn inner circles a display or use. Rapidly pulsing deep strike tone plays underneath a solid low 4th octave overtone. Struck softly you get that satisfying bass, firmer strikes bring out highs but also inconsistencies in the sound. Sustain is on the weak side, still an nice 20-30 seconds. Stick play is very good. With the right tools you can play that deep bass or go for the higher notes. Note the recording as three distinct sounds, almost like three different bowls. With overtones at G4, G5, D6.
- 2. Rim Play: N105 XL Long Ringing Stick leather -Bass. Followed by FP Massive Yew Wand primary overtone then N102 Ringing Stick wood for the highs
