8498 Large Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with inscription and sonic complexity

Large Manipuri with clear classic double inner circles and faded exterior lines. The inscription is worn but might not be quite as old as the bowl. Bright brassy color, smooth to the touch. Highly complex soundscape where tones successively quiet to reveal sounds under the surface. Very good sustain. Good wood bowl, especially good with the Frank Perry yew wand which is highly recommended for this bowl. Ebony wand is harder to handle but can bring out upper partials. With overtones at C#5, G5, C#6, A6.
