8507 Deep Toned Manipuri Singing Bowl worn thin over time

Manipuri with vestiges of extensive artwork. This bowl might well have been twice as thick originally. The rim, which is only as thick as the inner dot of what used to be circle punches may well be a quarter of it’s original girth. A thin bowl makes for a deep sound and this one delivers being at the cusp of E3 and F3. The deep strike tone and low overtone play on solidly, very nice bowl for soft tapping. Very good sustain. With sticks the bass drops out any you hear overtones, primarily B4 and F#6. With overtones at B4, B5, F#6, .
