8590 Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with beautifully fluttering overtone

Extra thick Manipuri with wide flared out rim and original patina. The bowl is very heavy for its size even though a significant amount of metal has worn away over the years. Exceptionally balanced soundscape with a high strike tone and clear overtones. It is the first overtone that defines the bowl it flutters at a wonderful pace and lasts throughout the excellent sustain. Not a stick bowl, despite the wear the rim faces too far out to allow wood to grab With overtones at C#6, C7, G#7.
