8616 Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with smoothly coherent soundscape

Shallow heavy Manipuri with worn external markings and dark patina. Wonderfully coherent soundscape on the strike, this bowl is smooth as silk out of the gate. What follows is a solid overtone (actually the flutter is so fast it sounds solid). At the end of the sustain you hear the higher overtone. Played with a soft mallet (recording 2) the pulsing strike tone stays prominent. Only fair sustain, not a stick bowl. With overtones at G5, C#6, C7.
