8644 Tiny Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with soothing primary tone

Simple brassy Manipuri with some rough spots. Soothing relatively deep strike tone is followed by a pulsing overtone backed by a soft singing high. The first recording, with a hard mallet showcases the overtones, the second recording with a soft mallet gives mostly the strong bass – this shows how different the bowl rings with different mallets. Good sustain. Forget trying to play this one with a stick, not much with a wand, either. With overtones at G#5, G6, D#7.
