8847 Thick Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with three textured high tones

Thick, smooth feeling Manipuri with creamy original patina. It has a thick rim and hints of artwork. High strike tone with two clear overtones. A relatively simple soundscape made more interesting by the fuzziness of the notes, they have a brassy texture that gets you to pay attention. Longevity is very good with the second overtone finishing strongest. Rim play is challenging but possible. No simple ringing stick will work, just the specially made rough amaranth wand.  The bowl has a see through hole in the bottom (see photo) no effect on the sound. With overtones at C6, B6.
