3588 Super Thick Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl that plays different tones
Very thick very old large and heavy Thadobati. The bowl has a mixture of patinas including dark copper bloom with bright sparkles inside. The rim is thick and deeply etched as are the circles peeking through the interior bloom. The walls are exceptionally tall so the bowl has more volume than most. of this diameter. Bowls as heavy and old as this are rare. Slow moving strike tone, Solfeggio frequency of 285 Hz paired with a rapidly pulsing set of overtones. Both the primary and overtones are evident throughout the excellent sustain. Off the rim you can play that pure primary tone as long as you want with leather. The edge has a good grip so you can keep going and the sound will continue smooth as silk. With wood you can bring out the overtone, not purely and not quietly. I found the $4 ringing stick best for this purpose. With overtones at G#5, G6, D#7, C#5.
