3688 Large Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl with sonorous and peaceful finish
Large Thadobati with a faint central god’s eye. In the process of the artwork being worn away from this old bowl the original hammermark pattern has been made visible through different colors of patina. Despite the use and wear, the interior is unblemished, just that clear pattern drawn in patina, wonderful bowl to look down into. The bowl also has very high walls which adds to the effect. Deep sonorous strike tone that becomes softer over time revealing a quiet following tone. A very peaceful and contemplative bowl. Sustain off the rim is outstanding, just listen to how the bowl gently fades with either end of the ringing stick (recording 2) With overtones at G4, F#5, D6, C#4.
