5584 Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl with fluttering or sweetly solid sound

Intriguing looking Thadobati with very dark patina. A bowl that very much looks its venerable age as evidenced by its wear and thickness. Varied soundscape, fluttering with a hard mallet and sweetly solid when struck firmly with a soft one (second half recording 1). Not much sustain. Plays fairly well with leather, the textured edge gives you a good grip, same feature makes wood play noisy. With overtones at E6, D#7, A#7, A#5.
