Lingam
Lingam are ceremonial bowls specially crafted with a protrusion of metal in the center made. This lingam is often adorned with etching to accentuate it and the rest of the bowl can have the full range of artwork. Antique Thadobati singing bowls are thick and heavy with broad rims and small outside circles. Manipuri lingams are also thicker and can have the circle and leaf exterior design. Jambati lingam bowls are quite rare. As lingam singing bowls are so rare and expensive there is a brisk business in fake antiques so buyer beware.
