Inexpensive coated rubber mallet from Nepal. Individually made, they vary a bit in size and hardness. This mallet is only for Jambati and Ultabati bowls. Works fine with new huge bowls up to 30 inches
This mallets’ broad side provides a wide area of contact which is good for volume. Big mallets lend themselves to getting a rhythm going. They are not like precision mallets that can be individually selected to highlight specific parts of the soundscape.
