Antique Jambati Singing Bowl with a deep and strengthening bass

1154 Antique Jambati Singing Bowl with a deep and strengthening bass

1. Best L1 Large Soft White Felt Mallet single tap.
2. Rim Play: N105 XL Ringing Stick leather low then overtone followed by FP Massive Yew Wandlll

Simple Jambati, well worn with faint artwork, that is very bright on the outside. Inside is a nice example of hammermark patina. I suspect someone “cleaned up” this antique as they often do for resale in the local market and roughed up the rim some. Mind you, we bought this bowl 8 years ago and it hasn’t added a bit of patina so you should ecpect the bowl to remain bright for decades. Plus the bowl has a lot of air miles, having crossed the Pacific ocean three times. Three tones greet you at the outset with the very deep bass subtle while still being the lead note. The bass is solid while the overtones flutter. Over time the higher notes drop out leaving a pure and peaceful bass to play on. Fine sustain as should be expected with this style of bowl. Fine leather rim play. If you are looking for an extra deep tone bowl which naturally goes to that fundamental this is one of your few choices. Pushed harder leather will add then spin to the overtone. The rim is rough, not good for wood , however you can spin with wood and even better a soft yew massive wand for more high notes. With overtone at C4.
