Antique Jambati Singing Bowl with sweet and active soundscape

1373 Antique Jambati Singing Bowl with sweet and active soundscape

Jambati with classic lines and interior copper bloom. Creamy original patina nicely offsets a clearly etched inscription. Sweet and active soundscape with a quickly pulsing low and rapidly oscillating middle tone backed by a subtle sweet high note. A bowl to brighten the spirit. Very good longevity. Very good rim play, smooth pure low with leather, or low with a hint of the next tone up. Wood side is a bit scratchy but it gets out the high. Really the best way to play the rim is with the massive wand. See if you can hear the difference in the oscillation pattern on the sustain in part 3 of recording 2 (soft yew) and part 4 (hard zebrawood). Distinct play with each of the four Best large mallets. With overtones at C#5, C6, G6.
