Adorned Exceptional Antique Jambati Singing Bowl with high woo-woo #1530

1530 Adorned Exceptional Antique Jambati Singing Bowl with high woo-woo #1530

1. Best L 2 Large Very Low Mallet single tap.
2. Rim Play: N103 Large Ringing Stick leather

Extra thick adorned Jambati with original patina and an exceptionally broad inner facing rim. A spectacular example of the old artwork the bowl is etched to create the impression of relief on both the rim and the side. This rare bowl was etched both inside and around the bottom, another rare feature. On the outside is a superficial crack, black with patina, a feature rather than a deficit. An exceptional looking bowl. A fluttering overtone mixed with a bouncing almost woo-woo fundamental tone play with texture and harmony. Over time the overtone drops out. The fundamental note is exceptionally high for a Jambati, one of the few 4th octave bowls you will ever see. This is a function of its thickness. Longevity is good. Spectacular rim play. For all intents and purposes there is only one soundscape. With leather the pure fundamental can be played, quite robustly. As you are making contact with the bowl you can control the oscillations, keeping them very cool. Lifting off the bowl moves into a deep woo-woo. Interesting effect worth listening into on recording 2. Exceptional both in sound and appearance. With overtones at C#5, G#5, G6, D#7.
