Simple bright Jambati so worn that no etching remains. The bowl has a barely visible hairline crack near the bottom. Complex multi tone soundscape layered on top of a super deep 82 Hz fundamental tone. The soundscape is rich and bell like with different zones to focus on, a complex set of tones to carry you along. Longevity is excellent. Spectacular rim play, leather easily spins out a satisfying mix of tones from the complex soundscape. Outstanding rim sustain provides the opportunity for the rim spin to evolve, a rare feature in antiques. For the second and third overtone the tulipwood wand does the best job. the hairline is non sonic and unless dropped on the floor will stay contained. Rated exceptional for the wonderful complexity mixed with spectacular sustain, something I would not normally do for a bowl with a crack but this one deserves the rating. With overtones at A#3, A4, B5, E6.
