Antique Jambati Singing Bowl with complex and brassy soundscape

1588 Antique Jambati Singing Bowl with complex and brassy soundscape

Simple thin Jambati with almost all artwork worn away. This bright bowl is old and worn. Complex and brassy soundscape with a subtle very low tone lead in and evenly pulsing overtones that predominate over the course of the sustain. There is a lot of depth to the soundscape, 20 different notes under 3000 Hz – a veritable sonic feast in moderately priced larger bowl. Spectacular intensity off the rim not so much bass but the penetrating singing overtones. Great example of a big bowl shining with a small wand. With overtones at B3, C5, C6, A#5.
