1593 Deep Toned Antique Jambati Singing Bowl with very actave overtones

Simple Jambati with all artwork worn away. There is a touch of smokiness to the patina to go with the hammermarks. Soft pulsing deep bass and a very steady Third octave overtone play a duet throughout the very satisfying sustain. There are actually quite a few higher notes subtly playing in the background, so subtle they add texture without hearing them. Leather off the rim is all bass – deep and pure. No struggle at all to get it going. Wood skips the third octave and goes right to the 4th – best with yew massive wand. This bowl has a long hairline crack that can can sometimes be heard with a mallet. My concern is the crack would grow with strenuous mallet use. Rim play is fine as is soft mallet play. Marked down significantly. With overtones at B3, A4.
