1607 Adorned Antique Jambati Singing Bowl with Responsive soundscape #1607

1. Best L 2 Large Very Low Mallet single tap.
2. Rim Play: N105 XL Ringing Stick leather followed by FP Massive Vermilion Wand

Thick unusual Jambati with dark patina and a broad inner facing rim. The bowl has an unusual textured surface sort of rough but also smooth to the touch. A spectacular example of the old artwork, the bowl is etched deeply and clearly inside and out. Unusually responsive soundscape built upon a high fundamental tone for the size. With different mallets very different sounding parts can be revealed, some more active than others. Sustain is short for such a large bowl. There is some short lived taste of an anomalous high note. Internal harmony is quite good. With leather the fundamental tone comes out easily and with surprising intensity. Sustain is better off the rim than with a mallet, the bowl can absorb more kinetic energy that way. Wood is scratchy as you spin, pure overtone once you lift off and leave the bowl on its own. Marked down for the sonic discontinuity and lesser sustain. Excellent value. With overtone at D5.
