Artistic Large Thick Antique Jambati Singing Bowl with clockwork tones #1637

1. Best L1 Large Soft White Felt Mallet single tap.
2. Rim Play: N105 XL Ringing Stick leather low then overtone

Large black and brass Jambati with a full broad inner facing rim.  This kind of rim is rare on this style bowl. The etching is clear inside and out, you can even see traces of rim lines which are the first to go from hand wear. Great looking thick and heavy bowl.

Slow deeply pulsing soundscape, regular as clockwork rocking you into peacefulness. At the beginning there is a high pitched discontinuity for a few seconds, easy to forget as it continues its long sustain.  That sound comes from an area around the rim where the maker of the bowl did an imperfect hammering job. There is a close up in the picture gallery. Overall this short lived sound does not detract from what is a fantastic soundscape.

In a bit of good fortune that deep pulsing tone is super easy to play off the rim, actually it is the only thing to play off the rim. It cones naturally, easily and with great power. Not a hint of the sonic issue. Rated exceptional, this sonic pattern is extremely rare. Still marked down a bit for the lack of perfection. With overtone at B.
