1665 Medium Thin Antique Jambati Singing Bowl with Natural A2 108 Hz #1665

1. Best N22 Soft Felt Mallet Mallet followed by L 4 single tap.
2. Rim Play: N103 Large Ringing Stick leather low then overtone followed by FP Tulipwood Wand

Simple pocket Jambati with consistent creamy patina and faint etching. Natural A2 108 Hz fundamental in an active soundscape both bass and overtone flutter and sing. Longevity and harmony are good, however the bowl does have a flaw. When it was made, because the metal is so thin a crack formed. It is both visible and audible. The recording was made with a soft mallet and if played that way the sound is pure. If struck hard the bowl has a rattle. In recording 1 there is a short silence then the bowl struck hard and you can hear the flaw. It goes away in seconds. Fine rim play, not a hint of the flaw. The bass and overtone nicely with leather. You can even tease out a higher note with a wand. Marked down by half. Great price for a second octave Jambati. With overtones at D#4, D#5, B5. Perfect A2 (432 Hz Scale) – 108 Hz.
