Very Large Extra Thick Nicely Adorned Antique Jambati Singing Bowl #1687

1. Best L1 Large Soft White Felt Mallet single tap.
2. Rim Play: N105 XL Ringing Stick leather followed by FP Massive Yew Wand

Large extra thick Jambati with a short inscription. At just under 6 Lbs. this bowl is pushing the edge of how heavy an antique can be. It has dark original patina and clear extensive etching.

Slow bass under a relatively short lived overtone, as the sustain continues it is the bass pulsing almost purely. At the beginning is a slight rattling discontinuity, try as I might I could not catch it in the recording but it is there. Despite all the positives and it disappearing in a few seconds the bowl is marked down accordingly.

Rim play is good, bass with leather and overtone somewhat roughly with a massive wand, Volume is fair, longevity on the overtone good. This is huge heavy bowl marked down because I’m so picky about perfect sound – even if I couldn’t get the flaw to become loud enough that my sensitive mic could isolate it. You might not even notice. With overtone at G#4.
