Huge classical Jambati with a broad rim dual texture finish and clear etching inside and out. The bowl has outstanding rich hammermark patina. Bowls of this size are and shape are increasingly rare. Solid and peaceful gently pulsing fundamental and overtone. Sustain is very good. There is a slight sonic discontinuity audible in the first few seconds on the bass side, played for even slightly higher tones it does not come through. Very good longevity as one would expect from such a large bowl. Nice pure bass off the rim with leather, smooth with good volume. Overtone with leather is just ok, a bit hard to get the bowl going. Massive wood will play the brighter sounding overtones after a scratchy start. A fine bowl discounted for the slight flaw. With overtone at A4. Overtone: Perfect A above Middle C (432 Hz Scale) – 432 Hz.
