Large Thick Adorned Antique Jambati Singing Bowl with responsive play #1754

1. N77 XL Nepali Mallet followed by L 2 single taps.
2. Rim Play: N105 XL Ringing Stick leather

Thick and very heavy large Jambati with a classical wide rim. Unlike most similar bowls this one was colored black, though in the high points that color has worn away revealing the bright metal underneath. Inside a rainbow of muted colors appear over the etching.

This big bowl can be played for a pretty solid fundamental with a low tone mallet or a bit more activity when using a higher tone one. Longevity is surprisingly short for such a big bowl, harmony is good.

The rim is primed for playing the fundamental with leather, you can spin it for as long as you want. Same longevity as with a mallet. No wood play worth recording. With overtone at A#4.
