Large Antique Jambati Lingam Singing Bowl with peaceful sound #1051

1. Best L 4 Large Low Mallet followed by N77 single tap.
2. Rim Play: N104 XL Ringing Stick leather followed by N103 Large Ringing Stick wood

This well used ceremonial object has all the signs of generations of service. The inner surfaces and broad rim have been worn almost smooth, only vestiges of the original metalwork remain. The large cone shaped lingam rises high out of the bottom of the bowl, smooth and shiny.

The rarity is accompanied by a superior soundscape, one with highs and lows that work smoothly together while also standing on their own. In the recordings with both mallets and sticks I isolate highs and lows. That being said, the real strength of this bowl is how pure this sound feels especially early on when all three main notes are playing.

The sound seems to wash through you with a cleansing quality – certainly fitted to its past history. With overtone at D6.
