Well Preserved Extra Thick Antique Manipuri Lingam Singing Bowl #6720

1. Best S 7 Small Medium High Mallet single tap.
2 Medium Ringing Stick wood

Extra thick larger Manipuri Lingam with bright coppery finish. The well preserved extensive artwork includes a center star. The broad rim has a full set of punches. The strong fluttering strike tone is matched by an equally strong fluttering primary overtone. Neither the tones not the oscillations are especially strong on sonic coherence. Sustain is just ok. The bowl rings with wood, not leather. With wood there is a nice pure B5 sustain after you lift off the edge. This is an especially beautiful and well preserved example of a ceremonial bowl. With overtones at F5, B5, G#6.
