Antique Manipuri Lingam Singing Bowl with pulsing low and lingering high
6714 Antique Manipuri Lingam Singing Bowl with pulsing low and lingering high
1. Best S 7 Small Medium High Mallet single tap. |
2 Medium Ringing Stick wood followed by FP Kingwood Wand |
Thick Manipuri Lingam with original patina. The extensive artwork is well preserved with evidence of wear on some interior features. The lingam itself is very low, almost worn away. The strike tone pulses strongly while individual highs play and fade out above with the exception of one thin tendril. That pulsing low continues to the end of a very good sustain. Not as complex as some Manipuri lingams the bowl still had three clear tones. Has a bit of a rim nick no not so great with sticks or wands, though listen for yourself recording 2. With overtones at B5, A#6.
