Thin Lingam Antique Unique Singing Bowl with a resonant even tone
77009 Thin Lingam Antique Unique Singing Bowl with a resonant even tone
1. Best L 4 Large Low Mallet single tap. |
2. Rim Play: N102 Medium Ringing Stick leather then wood |
Simple rather large rounded bowl. Sort of rusty with a bit of artwork and a integrated central hump. You could call it a lingam but this is not a ceremonial bowl. Resonant even tone, the notes have good longevity and maintain their solid character. While the bowl is not ceremonial it is sort of magical that it contains two solfeggio notes the 174 Hz fundamental and 529 Hz overtone (as close as you can get to the universal 528). Rim play is straightforward and satisfying. Bass with leather, overtone with wood and fine sustain on either. An unusual bowl that just so happens to land on the right frequencies – or was it by design? That’s lost to antiquity. With overtone at C5. Solfeggio – 174 Hz. Solfeggio – MI 528 Hz Overtone.
