Large Extra Thick Semi-lingam Antique Singing Bowl with great sound #77115

1. Best L 8 Large High Mallet single tap.
2. Rim Play: N102 Medium Ringing Stick wood

Unusually shaped worn old bowl with an upraised lingam like feature. In India where this bowl originates it is called a semi-lingam, a feature deliberately hammered into the bowl. Nice original patina and the flare shape of an Ultabati.

The shape is such the bowl can be played by a mallet either inside or out. Rich overtone centered initial soundscape, especially when played with a high tone mallet that simplifies into the solid fundamental tone. Great sound but not much longevity

Solid wood rim play, quite simple just the main tone. A reasonably priced rare lingam style bowl.. With overtones at C6, B6, G#7.
