X Thick Antique Mani Singing Bowl with a penetrating high soundscape
6208 X Thick Antique Mani Singing Bowl with a penetrating high soundscape
1. Best L 8 Large High Mallet single tap. |
2. Rim Play: FP Massive Yew Wand |
Extra thick Mani with very worn artwork and a broad rim. The bowl has bright consistent patina. This is likely a very old bowl, the shape is a little taller than usual and the level of wear so extensive it has taken a long time to make the bowl into its present condition. Penetrating high tone soundscape where the solid high cuts right through the air. A taste of a sweet high comes out near the beginning then quickly fades to its supporting role. Longevity and harmony are good. The smooth finish on this bowl makes it not a good leather candidate. Simple or massive wood will play the main tone. Unusually, the rim tone tests at 10Hz lower than the primary mallet tone. This is quote rare – making it a F5 instead of a F#5. With overtones at A#6, G#7.
