8845 Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with very high fundamental pitch

Brassy colored, thick double rim Manipuri with some indented hammermarks and etching. Very high pitched bowl, top end for Manipuri style. It is especially high for its relatively large size. Listening into the soundscape you hear the overtone emerge sweetly fluttering. Sustain is fair, a bowl for more than one tap. No rim play due to the sharp edge. This is a bowl to anchor the high end of a Manipuri set. With overtones at D6, A7.
