8896 Polished Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with delightful deep soundscape
Polished Manipuri worn to what must be less than half its original thickness. Very deep toned for its size, this bowl has a softly thumping bass (seems like an oxymoron but it describes the sound) that plays under harmoniously arranged overtones. The middle overtone has the kind of texture which grabs you while the high that comes out later in the sustain sings. A delightful soundscape fom such a non-descript bowl. Plays exceptionally well off the rim. Not the bass tone, mind you, but the overtones. Play is uncommonly smooth with wood, small stick or wand. With overtones at C#5, C6, G#6.
