239 Antique Manipuri Lingam Singing Bowl with strong fluttering overtone
Extra thick larger Manipuri Lingam with original patina. The extensive artwork is clear with some evidence of wear on the highest interior features. Broad Rim with clear punches. A bowl that has seen a lot of use. Very interesting soundscape where the way the bowl is hit has a great effect on the sound that unfolds. One strike will give you a deeply oscillating bass tone while another will bring out a fluttering set of highs. In recording 1 which has the former soundscape at the very end are a few seconds of a fluttering strike. Excellent sustain. Not an easy bowl for stick play, you are best off with a massive Zebrawood wand. With overtones at A#5, A6.
