6710 Antique Manipuri Lingam Singing Bowl with rapidly fluttering main tone
Thick Manipuri Lingam with original patina and copper tarnish. The extensive artwork is well preserved with evidence of wear on some interior features. A powerful thick bowl where the rapidly fluttering strike tone plays under a set of active overtones. This is a lively, energetic bowl. As the soundscape unfolds the different characteristics of the overtones become prominent. Great bowl for buying bold a soft and hard mallet as it sounds really different with either (if you do get the harder M216 and the soft N118). Excellent harmony within the complexity. Good sustain. Tough bowl for stick play, best is the Purple Amaranth wand. Rare combination of a stimulating soundscape in a ceremonial object. With overtones at F#5, C6, B6, G7.
