Thick Adorned Rare and Distinctive Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl #80265

80265 Thick Adorned Rare and Distinctive Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl #80265

1. Best S 5 Small Medium Mallet single tap.
2. Rim Play: N102 Medium Ringing Stick wood followed by FP Tulipwood Wand

Thick elaborately adorned Manipuri with dark patina. This is a rare bowl with a full compliment of etching including a clear eight pointed interior star – the first etching feature to be worn off. The rim has its original thickness full of unevenly struck punch circles. Wild penetrating and intense, this bowl has a complex set of tones that start off strong and active, then tone down over tome. Good longevity, the bowl is so substantial it can take a very strong strike. The rim even with its sharp edge sings the overtone easily and smoothly with simple wood to strong volume. Same note with less power with a tiny wand. This is a rare example of an old Manipuri with a full compliment of sharp artwork, a collector’s piece whatever the tonality. With overtones at G5, F#6, D7.
