Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with simple deep soundscape #8397

1. Best S 3 Small Low Mallet single tap.
2. Rim Play: N101 Small Ringing Stick wood then wood followed by FP Tiny Yew Wand

Manipuri with vestiges of elaborate etching evidenced by a circular set of dots inside the bowl and on the rim. These dots were originally the enter of a punch circle. We acquired this bowl over ten years ago.

Focused and simple soundscape. First you hear the fairly deep fundamental but soon the gentle fluttering overtone is what you hear. Fine longevity, good harmony.

OK rim play on a very smooth edge. The bass does not play with leather. First overtone with simple wood. Next overtone requires a tiny wand, yew seems best. Nice overtone sustain.. With overtones at D#5, D6. Perfect A3 (432 Hz Scale) – 216 Hz.
