Adorned Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with a complex repeating pattern

8724 Adorned Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with a complex repeating pattern

Manipuri with a full but very worn set of classical artwork and a clear exterior inscription. This inscription was undoubtedly added at a later date. Subtle 220 Hz strike tone strongly overshadowed by a strong singing 5th octave overtone. If you listen closely you will hear a note way above that with this complex repeating pattern that comes, pulses and then goes silent – only to emerge again to repeat. Really special if you like to listen deeply in the the basement (or in this case the attic) of a singing bowl. Excellent longevity, this style bowl really holds the tone. Lots of power off the rim with wood, a hard Frank Perry wand can make this bowl fill a room with sound. With overtones at D#5, D6, D7, E7. Perfect A3 – 220 Hz.
