Extra-thick Manipuri with a broad rim flared inside and out rim with original patina. This nicely preserved bowl has clear etching including elaborate work on the rim.
Bright very solid soundscape with a super strong and steady fundamental tone that carries on through the excellent sustain. This premium harmony bowl does have a very subtle sonic flaw. I could not get it to show in the recording but I can hear it in person. Likely you will not, or will not mind as it only lasts a few seconds.
Rim play is just fair, really just the overtone with a simple stick. A wand can tease out the same tone. Very much a bowl to enjoy the premium harmony with a mallet. An extra thick adorned bowl marked down for a subtle flaw.. With overtones at B5, A#6, F#7.
