9139 Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with sonorous sounds roll along slowly

Huge old style Manipuri with flared out rim. This special bright bowl has almost all its artwork worn away. Incredibly deep and sonorous this Manipuri is one of the deepest of this style we have ever seen. The peaceful soundscape just rolls along slowly rocking the listener. The bass has a gentle periodicity of 3 1/2 seconds, while the overtones – of which you can hear 4 – are a peaceful supporting background. Longevity is fine as you would expect with a bowl this big, harmony is premium. A soft touch with the largest leather ringer plays the almost painfully low and slow bass. That same leather kicks the bowl up into its D4 and D5 overtones. The massive wand gives hints of higher notes above. With overtones at D4, D5, A5, E6.
