Extra Thick Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with powerful even toned sound

9210 Extra Thick Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with powerful even toned sound

1. Best XL 1 Extra Large Very Low Mallet single tap.
2. Rim Play: N105 XL Ringing Stick leather low then overtone

Huge extra thick Manipuri with a smooth glowing gold colored interior and three clear etching lines outside under the rim. 2 Kg is one of the largest and heaviest Manipuri you will ever see – especially today as these are mostly gone. Powerful incredibly even toned soundscape, rare symmetry supported by the 2 1/2 Lb. mass for effect. This is a great bowl if you want to absorb that frequency, it comes across with such solid intensity. The bowl has a sonic flaw, a rattle, that can be avoided by striking the bowl in a particular zone. That is what is in the main recording with a short piece of the sonic issue at the end. It can be difficult to hear, but I am picky about such things and marked down this remarkable bowl significantly. The source of sonic flaw is in the very bottom of the bowl, a hairline crack in a fingernail size indentation of missing metal.
The powerful penetrating bass is easily played with leather, the sound is pure and volume is moderate. The overtone with its taste of the higher register flaw can again be played with leather using a more strenuous technique. Only buy the big fluffy mallet and largest leather wrapped ringing stick with this bowl – it is just too much for smaller implements. With overtones at A#4, A#5.
