Exceptional Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with beautiful patina
9245 Exceptional Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with beautiful patina
Very Large Manipuri with beautiful rich dark hammermark patina. The bowl is smooth with all the old etching worn away but still great looking with its rare coloration. Really interesting soundscape that starts with a deep C primary tone pulsing slowly under two solid overtones. Those solid notes continue on into an extraordinarily long sustain. This is a spectacular bowl for moving your state of mind, the rare two steady highs just carry you. Extraordinary! Definitely one of a kind. The rim has an entirely different character, pure bass and single overtones leather and wood. Activity off the rim is more pronounced than the solid carrier tone of mallet play. With overtones at G#4, G5.
