Large Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with a rare deep second octave tone #9246

9246 Large Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with a rare deep second octave tone #9246

1. Best L 2 Large Very Low Mallet single tap.
2. Rim Play: N103 Large Ringing Stick leather then wood followed by FP Tulipwood Wand

Very large Manipuri with bright brassy patina. All the artwork has worn away. Rare super deep second octave tone. Manipuri style bowls hardly ever go this low. This bowl is both big and has a heavy bottom so it has a solid feel. The bass is subtle, the active and balanced overtones become more prominent over time. The heavy bass helps put nergy into your hand. Excellent longevity. Fine bass off the rim with leather. If you want to hear the deep tone that is the way. Fine overtones with simple wood and tiny wand. With overtones at F4, E5, C6.
