Flawed Beauty Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with a deep primary toneSale!
9384 Flawed Beauty Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with a deep primary tone
Large bright Manipuri with a long straight hairline crack. Deep primary tone that is accompanied by overtones that really take over the soundscape. Quite good harmony. The bowl has a hairline crack and it is best to strike the bowl on the other side to avoid hearing it. The recording deliberately plays up the sound (which is subtle). Leather play is soft and challenging but wood is just great – smooth, easy to volume, not so shaky it rattles the stick off the bowl and excellent longevity. Marked down by 1/3 for the crack, there is a lot to be had from this bowl outside the flaw. With overtones at G#4, G5, E6.
