Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with a warbling primary tone

9495 Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with a warbling primary tone

Manipuri with a rough interior featuring green and red copper patina. A warbling primary tone mixes with steadier higher notes which eventually become the center of sound. While the initial volume comes down quickly overall sustain is good. Great bowl for higher notes off the rim. The first overtone comes on strong and clear with simple wood – excellent longevity when the tone is liberated from other frequencies. Lots of high tone complexity with a wand. With overtones at D5, C#6, G#6, D#7.
